Busy people need to relax and unwind after a hard day at work. There are a lot of ways in which you can relax, and, of course, a bottle of wine is one of our favorite ways to do so. Aside from washing away the day’s worries, did you know that some believe that wine has health benefits, too?

Relax With a Glass of Wine

1. Wine may offer protection for the heart. Red wine contains polyphenol which dilates the veins and arteries offering the blood more room to flow.
2. Wine may lower cholesterol levels.
3. Wine may balance blood sugar levels. The secret here lies in the skins of red grapes. Some grape skins contain resveratrol, and resveratrol may be beneficial to blood sugar and insulin levels.
4. Your brain gets refreshed. Again it is resveratrol that does this. Resveratrol is believed to contribute to better memory and block against the development beta-amyloid, a protein plaque that can deposit itself on the brain.

While we’re no doctor, and further research may be needed to understand the health benefits of wine, we do know that wine is great for relaxing. And that’s all the health benefit that you need some days.
